This name page neeeds CORRECTION: NOT NOT "van de" or "Van Der" , it is a european accepted standard nomenclature, Robert Jemison van der Graaff.

--

  • Not sure who left that unsigned comment again, but "European accepted standard" doesn't apply here. Van de Graaff was born in America, and that is how his family spelled the name. You're trying to apply revisions of Dutch orthography to an American?? Forget that nonsense. It's not applicable to him. His name is correct as is, as the many references at the bottom show. Plus, as a physicist, I can tell you learning the correct spelling for Van de Graaff is part of the fun. :) ---Sturmde 21:37, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From Dutch descent[edit]

In the article it says Van de Graaff was from Dutch descent. Does anybody know how far back that dates? When did his family move to the US? And can anyone please provide a source for that? I'm asking this, because in the Dutch wikipedia it says that Van de Graaff was a Dutch-American, and I wonder if that is a correct way to put it. Mark in wiki (talk) 13:37, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
