Fact checking

[edit]

Has anyone checked the statements in this biography for correctness? It now mentions that:

  • "Throughout the 1990s Vanderbei, in collaboration with David Shanno and graduate students, extended the so-called interior-point paradigm from linear optimization problems first to quadratic problems,[8] then to convex, and finally to nonlinear optimization problems.[9]", but he only seems to have built solvers for existing theory
  • "is still widely used and outperforms other approaches", with a reference from 1999
  • "In 2000, Ben-Tal and Nemirovski wrote a follow-up paper", but the follow-up paper does not cite the original
