Robert van KerckhovenRobert Van Kerkhoven – misspelled name. The man is named "Robert Van Kerkhoven", as is seen here on a picture from the 50s [1] (scroll down a screen), here on the official website of the Belgian FA [2], the nl.wikipedia.org and fr.wikipedia.org Some football DB website on the internet get it right, e.g. [3], unfortunately some copy around a misspelled name, which was used for this article. I didn't knew person names are spelled different depending on the language. ;-) --Dreynner (talk) 18:12, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bob or Robert is exactly the same. Maybe Bob is better per WP:COMMONNAME, see Bill Clinton. Not William Clinton.--Dreynner (talk) 18:30, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That is because Bill Clinton is called Bill in reliable sources, but all the sources here point to 'Robert'. Robert/Bob is not the same - look at Andrew Cole's example, for instance. GiantSnowman 18:34, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't care if it's Bob or Robert. As long as the surname is spelled correct, so Van Kerkhoven and not 'van Kerckhoven'.--Dreynner (talk) 19:05, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with Dreynner: as long as the family name is correct. Bob/Robert doesn't really matter: Robert is his official name, but just as in English, some Roberts are popularly named Bob (and yes, I remember this Not the Nine O'Clock News sketch ;-) ). So it doesn't matter much if it's Bob or Robert in this case, this site even uses both on the same page. Just whichever you choose. ;-) --LimoWreck (talk) 20:48, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, has to be 'Robert' for me, that's what 99% of the sources call him. GiantSnowman 21:31, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
