  • ... that the English classicist Roger Mynors was last heard talking about the death of Bede before being killed in a car crash?

Source: "'As [Mynors] left, we spoke of Bede. He told me that he was glad that he had translated for the Oxford Medieval Texts the account of Bede's death, and that Bede had not ceased in what he saw as his work for God until the very end.' Driving home the few miles to Treago that evening, he was killed instantaneously in a road accident." [1]

  • Comment: The source of the hook corresponds to footnote 16 in the article, Winterbottom (1991) 365-6.

5x expanded by Modussiccandi (talk). Self-nominated at 19:21, 23 July 2020 (UTC).[reply]

I've done a check myself and I'm afraid it's true that the article hasn't been extended x5. My apologies for not checking beforehand. Modussicandi (talk) 21:17, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Modussicandi, Modussicandi, the nominated article R. A. B. Mynors had 2099 prose characters prior to the July expansion, and currently has 6602 prose characters. It is not too late to continue the expansion, even though the nomination has already been made; it will need 10495 prose characters in all, another 3893 prose characters, to meet the 5x requirement. Modussicandi, please let us know whether you can expand the article by that much. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:06, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Modussiccandi, that's great. We typically start with seven days for an extension, but as long as good progress is being made, that can easily be extended further. I've superseded the "X" icon to prevent a closing of the nomination while you're working on the expansion. Thanks for the quick reply. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:47, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
