Marketing speak

[edit]

I notice that the cleanup by user MarmotteNZ has been promptly reverted to a previous version, complete typos and missing bot generated corrections. This was done without comment, not even an edit summary. This really will not do, MarmotteNZ may have been a bit over-drastic, but the cleanup was justified: the article read like the company marketing blurb. A section on "latest products" like it was a page in a catalogue is particularly inappropriate for an encylopedia. Marketing phrases like launched in a variety of lacquered colours, set a trend... and "has been acclaimed by a number of hi-fi reviewers as one of the best sounding record players in the world" are also not the right style here, especially when they are uncited. I have cleaned the article again (less drastically) and hopefully that can stand, at least until there is some discussion. SpinningSpark 17:40, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was maybe too drastic indeed :-) by lack of time mostly to go into the details. In any case, "make its mark in the radical designs of hi-fi product" is still very marketing-oriented, as is the whole loudspeakers section with its "citation needed"; isn't there a rule or bot over here to (at least) advise Sahilzutshi56 (who reverted the changes as per your comment) that his behavior is against the WP Policies? . --MarmotteiNoZ 02:21, 15 October 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by MarmotteNZ (talkcontribs)
Yes, I agree, there is still a lot that is unacceptable about this article. I have already left a note on Sahilzutshi56's talk page. SpinningSpark 08:40, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sahilzutshi56 is coming back to reverting previously deleted marketing claims etc in spite of this talk page and previous warnings. I'll file now one level up. --MarmotteiNoZ 22:41, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
