Neutrality Disputed
[edit]I have added the Neutrality tag to the section entitled "Mishandling of Sexual Abuse Cases" because the title of the section itself is worded in a non neutral manner. The Sexual Abuse cases were legally dealt with and a judgement was made. The section seemed very biased, and was added by an editor who seems to have a narrow scope of Christian beliefs. I understand persons have personal feelings for what they write but maintaining neutrality in topics is a Wikipedia policy. Mfields1 23:10, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm unsure why the previous editor finds the title "Mishandling of Sexual Abuse Allegations" to be biased, as failure to report allegations of is by definitions mishandling sexual abuse allegations, and there has been a finding of guilt by a court of law, where the defendant (the Archdiocese) were afforded full due process.
- I'm equally unsure why the previous editor thought it particularly relevant to opine about my "narrow scope of Christian beliefs", unless s/he feels ad hominem arguments bolster his or her position. Indeed having a narrow scope of Christian beliefs, a broad scope of Christian beliefs, or rejection in toto of Christianity seems to have no bearing on his/her argument.
- In all events it would have been helpful if the previous editor had explained why s/he felt the title was biased, rather than stating it as a matter of fact without delving into irrelevancies such as another poster's personally held convictions. It would have also been if s/he would have quoted those statements s/he felt wandered into NPOV. SonPraises 07:16, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Section Title reverted
[edit]The original section title has been reverted. The only finding of guilt dealt with the mishandling of the allegegations, and not the allegations themselves. SonPraises (talk) (contributions) 18:31, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
Coadjutors not Auxiliaries
[edit]I just noticed that Elder, Moeller and Schnurr are listed under Auxiliary Bishops. I don't believe that's correct. They are all Coadjutors. Coadjutors are not Auxiliaries. I'm not bold enough to change the page, but I thought I'd point this out while I get up the nerve. JordanHenderson (talk) 16:31, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Patron Saint
[edit]I believe that the official patron saint of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is St. Francis de Sales (not St. Peter, as indicated in the article). Please change this if it can be verified. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.49.45.10 (talk) 02:03, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
St. Francis de Sales is the patron saint of the Archdiocese according to this source: http://www.catholiccincinnati.org/about-us-2/salesian-guild. JordanHenderson (talk) 01:51, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Joseph R. Binzer
[edit]I was bold enough to add an entry to the bottom of the list of Auxiliary Bishops about Joseph Binzer. Joseph Binzer needs a Wikipedia article. I'm not bold enough to write that myself. Volunteers? JordanHenderson (talk) 11:37, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
