Tonsatz[edit]

  • (Tonsatz) Previously translated as composition (Diplom). Arranging might be closer to de definition but I think composition is OK. Jmar67 (talk) 18:28, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Composition is used in several articles, but that's understood as the broad concept, while Tonsatz considers the specific task of setting several voices. Hindemith wrote an important work about it. I don't know what "tone setting" would be in English. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:42, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, "arranging" seems to be closest. Jmar67 (talk) 19:09, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Wrong, sorry. It's closer to counterpoint, setting the voices in keeping with rules, - but is not the same.
Counterpoint has to do with setting different melodies against each other. Don't think so. But I'm learning a few things. I saw your post to "Classical music". Bin gespannt. :-)
Langenscheidt: Tonsatz = composition, Tonsatzlehre = theory of harmony and counterpoint. Jmar67 (talk) 22:12, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Bonifatius[edit]

  • (Bonifatius) Twardy will be interim conductor. I think we need to say that here. He likely will stay with the Knabenchor. Jmar67 (talk) 19:42, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If you think so. Nobody suggested he would no longer be leader of the Knabenchor, or what did I miss? Some conduct 10 choirs. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:15, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I just inferred that at first. But not after learning about "interim". Not important. Jmar67 (talk) 21:43, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
