Chord progression[edit]

I V vi iii I V vi-iii vi

The progression is as above. In a minor key the mediant is a major chord, but this is not a minor key. Hyacinth (talk) 08:59, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The progression is actually more like III VII i V III VII i-V i and the key is a minor key. You could also think of it being in a major key, but in that case you will have to take into account the fact that the progression temporarily modulates to the relative minor key during which the vi chord becomes the root and the III becomes the dominant chord to that root, and is a major chord like the dominant is in minor keys. The progression is either III VII i V III VII i-V i or I V vi III I V vi-III vi.
