GA Review[edit]

Article (edit | visual edit | history) · Article talk (edit | history) · Watch

The article is quite good overall, i just found a couple tweaks needed:

  • "he took 2/60 in the first innings before making his first first-class run, scoring an unbeaten one." unbeaten one's a lil jargony, link/explain. By extension, make sure appropriate cricket terms are linked for the non-cricket specialist.
Done these, YellowMonkey (click here to vote for world cycling's #1 model!) 04:34, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Of short stature, Halcombe generated high pace from a short run." Is his exact height mentioned in any sources?
No it wasn't YellowMonkey (click here to vote for world cycling's #1 model!) 04:34, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • "It was believed that although there was pressure for Halcombe to be omitted, the Western Australian leadership wanted other umpires in other states to analyse his action in a match situation." This sounds like it needs a cite. If the one at the end of the paragraph covers this sentence then no worries.
REadded from end of para. YellowMonkey (click here to vote for world cycling's #1 model!) 04:34, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Could you give some more detail as to why his bowling was controversial? I can tell it was, but i don't really see the why.
Gave an explanation of what an illegal bowling technique is. YellowMonkey (click here to vote for world cycling's #1 model!) 04:34, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Any information on his death?
No, I couldn't find it YellowMonkey (click here to vote for world cycling's #1 model!) 04:34, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Otherwise the article's good, just fix this stuff and I'll pass it. Wizardman 03:54, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
