This page has some issues with primary sources, outdated facts, and formatting. I recommend the following updates:

On the “Other work” section, add Journal of Democracy [1] to the list of editorial boards Deibert is on. For the advisory board, keep only Human Rights Watch, PEN Canada, and the Design 4 Democracy Coalition, and erase the rest due to the lack of secondary sources.

There are several sources that I recommend changing to secondary sources:

For the “Awards” section, I recommend reformatting it into a list with updated secondary sources. Right now it is in a paragraph form, which can be hard to read and does not outline the chronology of the awards. The sources are also mostly primary, which is not consistent with the Wikipedia citation guidelines on WP:BLP. The new section would look as follows:

  • University of Toronto Outstanding Teaching Award (2002) [13]

Deibert was a Ford Foundation research scholar of information and communication technologies (2002–2004),[13] and he received an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Guelph (2019).[14][15] He was named one of Motherboard website's "Humans of the Year"[16][17] (2017), listed among SC Magazine’s top "IT Security Luminaries"[18] (2010), and Esquire magazine's Best and Brightest List of 2007.[19][20]

In 2013, he was made a Member of the Order of Ontario[21][22] and awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, for being "among the first to recognize and take measures to mitigate growing threats to communications rights, openness and security worldwide."[21] He was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2022, with the rank of Officer.[23][24]

Deibert's book Reset: Reclaiming the Internet for Civil Society won the 2021 Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing.[25]

For the “Publications” section, I recommend changing the section headings to “Books co-edited by Deibert” and “Books authored by Deibert”, and add a subsection of “Selected journal articles authored by Deibert" with the following articles:
