"Mann also idolised Marco Ruas and Royce Gracie as a youngster after being introduced to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and began taking Muay Thai lessons at the age of 11 as well as participating in jiu-jitsu and kickboxing tournaments at the age of 13." - run-on sentence - Done - I changed it to a couple of separate sentences.
"Mann currently trains at Team Trojan in Cheltenham, England." - This seems out of place in the background section. Also, the wording violates WP:DATED. - Done - Removed it, as I reckon the infobox on the right will be sufficient.
The background and early career sections are both short and deal with the same basic topic, so it might be better to combine them. For example, under Sengoku, there are four short paragraphs about one fight with Hioki, which need to be combined. - Done
Event titles throughout the article should be in italics. - Done
Most of the paragraphs are short and stubby. If the surrounding paragraphs deal with the same fight or tournament, they can probably be merged together. - Done
"Mann defeated Steve McCombe via submission (choke) in the first round." - There are a lot of fight results written this way. "Mann defeated Steve McCombe via a choke submission in the first round" reads better IMO. - The reason for this, is that this is how results are written in play-by-play for the sport, and also in the fighter databases.
What makes ProFighting-Fans.com reliable? - not a great deal, but the fact is correct, but difficult to find sources for. Up to you whether it's kept or not.
The article relies heavily on Sherdog. Is there not a single article about him from another news organization or reliable website? - The most reliable source in MMA, apart from mmajunkie.com. Sherdog provides content for espn.com, while mmajunkie.com provides content for sports.yahoo.com. Other MMA sites are reliable to me, but non-fans aren't easily convinced.
I'll give seven days for article improvements. After improvements are made, I'll give the article another look-through to make sure everything has been addressed. Thanks. Nikki♥31103:13, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, most people have articles on GAN watchlisted so when the review is up they'd automatically be notified. Anyway, I'm not a jerk, so I'll let you have more time to address everything. Nikki♥31120:46, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry about it, I wasn't thinking you were a jerk. Sorry if it came across that way! Just for the record, I have 2000 articles watchlisted, so it's not something that I'd spot easily. Thank you for the extra time. I'll need it. I'm currently working a full time job with stupid hours, so I've not got much time free. Paralympiakos(talk)20:51, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The changes look good, and the article seems to be in-line with the other MMA good articles. While I'd prefer a more reliable source for the fact sourced by ProFighting-Fans.com, it isn't controversial, so I don't think it is a big deal. I'd also like to see some other reliable news sites for the article, but I know that there isn't as much mainstream coverage on MMA fighters as participants in other sports. Great job. Pass.
