Solo single

Snowflake91, I'm curious as to why you removed that she currently has a solo single in the works from the lead. It's reliably sourced in the body and I'd consider that relatively important information for a singer, especially since it's intended has her formal solo debut. Not needed in lead since its a probable future event but without any date set, and "currently" needs to be defined – according to source, it has been in development for 4 months already, just add it when more official info like the name of the song or release date came out. Debut year and years_active

This doesn't make sense to go all the way back to 2012. She was a non-credited in title featured singer on "One Of A Kind" by G-Dragon (빅뱅) https://web.archive.org/web/20160819003852/http://gaonchart.co.kr/main/section/chart/online.gaon?pageNo=3&serviceGbn=S1020&termGbn=year&hitYear=2012&targetTime=12&nationGbn=K. Blackpink wasn't even around yet, which is where she has her main fame. Blackpink did not debut until 2016. Another option would be to show years active as "2012, 2016–present" as the period in between she was still in training and didn't perform publicly as a solo or group act. Credited at the time or not, credit has since been given to her which shows she was indeed active. Blackpink not yet existing doesn’t change that fact. Listing since 2016 would suggest she has no known activity prior to this, when the article clearly shows otherwise. I agree that “2012, 2016–present” may better suit, though. For the “as featured artist” section, I’d also suggest listing it as how the song is actually credited (feat. ? Of YG New Girl Group) with a note stating she was later credited, as is mentioned in the article further up. Alexanderlee (talk) 13:50, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
If you can find the song title as credited back in 2012, then that would help. But, according to the article, "Her name was not publicised at the time of release with her credit revealed following her announcement as a Blackpink member" I'm okay with showing "2012, 2016–present" as well, as that is consistent with bands going on hiatus and then having reunion tours. If Rose or Blackpink had been regularly giving mini concerts with YG group and videos from 2012–2016 then the span can be filled in. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:00, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
Credit was given at a later point, which is why I said about adding note saying she was later credited. If her name wasn’t publicised, then we’re obviously not going to find the sing credited with her name in 2012, or if you’re meaning a source which uses (feat. ? Of YG New Girl Group), then there’s the charting that you linked to above. At this point going with two separate periods for the years active seems to be the most logical option. @AngusWOOF: The 2012, 2016-present is more accurate so I support that change. Regarding her feature, I was the one who wrote it and I did so because she's currently credited like that. I think, instead of writing it the original way and adding a footnote for the new version, the new credit should be kept and the footnote should state the original credit. Hey, DanielleTH, that source for the day/month appears to be a blog. We can't use birthdates that aren't clearly widely distributed in reliable sources. If that's the only source, we can't use it; it's a BLP privacy issue per WP:DOB. --valereee (talk) 15:02, 8 July 2019 (UTC)

@Valereee: NME is not a blog, it's a pretty widely respected music magazine that's been around since the 1950s. There's a good number of other sources, especially Korean-language, that mention her exact birthday, which I can find for you. If privacy is a concern Rosé mentioned it openly on her Instagram which was reposted by her record label. @Valereee: Having "blog" in the URL does not make it an unreliable source. "Blog" is the label that NME uses for their opinion pieces, which can be verified easily on the website. Verifying reliable sources isn't just looking at the URL without further research on the site.  Not done: Per above request, Wikipedia uses the age system where you are 0 when you are born, and you turn 1 when a year has passed since you were born. This is the western age system. In East Asia, you are 1 when you are born and 2 when a year has passed; this is what Rosé uses. Since we follow the Manual of Style on Wikipedia, we say her age is 24. The current image is one of the most recent that we have in Commons. It's also only two years old, she doesn't look that different. Please fix the Guinness Records

I was Bold in adding accurate information but it seems that User:Paper9oll has taken it upon himself to stalk me and automatically change all of my edits. He did this previously, and mindlessly reverted dozens of previous edits, and then, in spite of being proven wrong, continues to do it, now with threats.

The fact is that the record for "first soloist and in a group to top the Global 200" is for the soloist (Rose) and the group (Blackpink) and is explicitly for the songs On the Ground and How You Like that, which we know for certain because that's Blackpink's only number 1 on the Global 200 and it is also Rose's only number 1.

Being abused for adding sourced accurate information is not a good look.

So I ask someone else to please add it, and also for Paper9oll to stop harassing me and mindlessly reverting everything I add.

@Skb7: Please see my reply to your accusation and my answer to why your edit was reverted. To all answering editors or admins, this is the included source [20] in Rosé (singer)#World records table. However no where did the source explictly stated "How You Like That" is awarded "First artist to reach number one on a Billboard Global chart as a soloist and as part of a group". Skb7 keep adding "How You Like That" by continously stating it as such. This is history of diff by Skb7 [21][22][23][24][25]. As seen from the diff, no supporting source was provided to support the claim for "How You Like That". In addition, neither the source [26] provided in List of awards and nominations received by Blackpink#World records table and How You Like That#Accolades table stated "How You Like That" is awarded "First artist to reach number one on a Billboard Global chart as a soloist and as part of a group". You can join the discussion in Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Skb7 false accusation against me for more information. As seen in the WP:ANI report, administrator's Black Kite agreed with the evidence I have provided which Skb7 keep insisting "How You Like That" was awarded with "First artist to reach number one on a Billboard Global chart as a soloist and as part of a group" which clearly isn't.   • Comment the Guinness source actually says that the song that she achieved the group number one with was "Lovesick Girls" rather than "How you Like That", and there's no evidence that the latter ever topped the charts. It seems at first glance that this is a bit of an underwhelming record, given that the chart in question only launched on September 2020... Yes you're right, the Guinness World Records (GWR) source stated "Lovesick Girls" charted previously on Billboard Chart at No. 1, however the song didn't break/broke any records nor was awarded any records. Currently, the only song by Blackpink that was awarded GWR records is "How You Like That" as per this source of which the song currently (as of 19 April 2021), only holds "Most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube" and "Most viewers for the premiere of a music video on YouTube" record. The other 3 records has been broken by BTS "Dynamite" as seen here. Hence, adding "How You Like That" into the World Records table wouldn't be correct. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 08:11, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

The record mentioned in the article is clearly the one pertaining to Lovesick Girls, as evidenced by the GWR article and also the list of number one songs at Billboard Global 200. The South Korean government said that all Koreans are citizens, so does that mean Rosé is both a citizen to New Zealand and South Korea? Second, she also lives in Australia. WernerHFan

Rosé actually plays (acoustic) guitar - as can be seen in numerous video’s of (live) performances, stay’s MV, their official Netflix documentary, YouTube web series and lots of backstage material - as well as piano and keyboards/synthesizer. She is schooled/trained in both these instruments from a young age. She also used to play Ukelele, but I’m not sure there is any video material available online.

Please be so kind to add Piano and (acoustic) guitar to the “INSTRUMENTS” tab on the main page/section. As she professionally plays these instruments (especially guitar) a lot while performing acoustic ballads with BLACKPINK and with performances of coversongs.

MBE or not?

Yes, Rosé is recently awarded with the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE).
Per my observation, we are having an edit warring here about whether should we add the "MBE" title after her name or not. I would like to turn this place into a safe ground for us - the hot-tempered editors - to discuss instead or silently arguing by dozens of edits & reversions and everyone know that edit warring is never constructive and healthy here on Wikipedia.
This is my opinion, yes, if this profile is treated as a Korean profile then then adding MBE title is theoretically not right; HOWEVER, I found some inconsistency when her primary name is stil recognized as Roseanne Park, which is definitely an English name and compatible to the British title. In other words, I am saying that it is not consistent and making sense when you are refusing adding the MBE title just because you are recognizing this profile as Korean, but still using her English name as the primary name for the person. So this is my suggesstions:
1. Treat the Rosé profile as a New Zealander, keeping that primary English/British name, and adding & recognizing her MBE title after as Roseanne Park MBE.
...or...
2. Treat the Rosé profile as Korean, place Park Chae-young before Roseanne Park and make it the primary name for Rosé. Of course, in this case there should be no MBE placement.

(Love the username by the way) Yeah, I already wrote my thoughts down below in a different section (slow typer alert!). I think this entire thing is most likely just a big misunderstanding over the fact that Rose is a Kiwi. I'm just going to go ahead and revert to changes to the main page. Also, do you think we should add the category Category:New Zealand Members of the Order of the British Empire back in? It seems to be a casualty. That being said, I'm not entirely sure that the order of her name would particularly matter when it comes to the MBE- but I'll have to check. The British Empire has included many countries or regions where people kept the family name first order, and I'm actually curious to see now if there's ever been a case where somebody swapped that order to account for a title/honour. Yes, we should totally re-add that category, since R is technically an NZ citizen. But we are having big problems here in this page recognizing if Rosé is a Korean or Kiwi, since they said that we should not add the MBE after a "Korean" name but we are using the british name Roseanne Park as the primary name.  Hwi.padam   22:10, 22 November 2023 (UTC)

Let's not start an edit war here. Rose is a South Korean and a New Zealand national. Taking a quick glance at other articles, MBE's awarded to other New Zealanders have been listed in the first line and their infobox as well. Rose may not currently live in New Zealand, but she still maintains her New Zealand nationality. While the removal of the MBE from the first line of the other Blackpink members Jisoo, Jennie (singer), and Lisa (rapper) was a correct application of MOS:POSTNOM, I do not believe this revision was. If nobody has any objections, I'm just going to go ahead and revert it back. If anybody does have an objection- then apologies, and let's discuss. @Yoongifxrever: Just pinging you here to let you know I've started a discussion here and to let you know why your edits on the other articles have been reverted. In future, it's a good idea to use edit summaries, so other editors can understand your thought process, especially if you see you're being reverted and you don't agree. I'm not an expert on this policy so I though the main point was that she's not a British citizen. But you both are right, she comes from a Commonwealth realm, so her situation is different.  Not done: This appears to be a copyrighted image uploaded to commons without permission. The source page doesn't say it is licensed under creative commons, and the bottom of the page says:

© 2024 Condé Nast. All rights reserved.
