Shouldn't it be Rosa Sinica?[edit]

Oppose WP:COMMONNAME is not a simple mandate to use common names instead of scientific names. It needs to be demonstrated that the proposed title is "most commonly used" in reliable sources and that it fulfills the other article title criteria. The proposed title fails WP:PRECISION. "China rose" is also used as a common name for Hibiscus rosa-sinensis. Google reports 22,500 results for "China rose"+"rosa-sinensis" and 22,400 for "China rose"+"chinensis". "Chinese rose" is another name used for both plants, although there is more of a margin for Rosa: Google reports 11,200 results for "Chinese rose"+"rosa-sinenis" and 16,700 results for "Chinese rose"+"chinesis". China rose used to redirect to a disambiguation page at Chinese rose (see [1]). I propose that the disambiguation page be restored (but at China rose rather than Chinese rose, as that name seems to be more commonly used for both plants and can also account for Rose, Rose, I Love You mentioned in the hatnote here). Oppose - For precision among other things. China rose is a common name of R. chinensis, but the common name is shared also with the China roses. The latter are hybrids of this species, many or even most including parentage from other species as well. Imc (talk) 06:57, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
