Lock pages in Spanish and English[edit]

There are multiple issues going on that can make the profile target to malicious changes.

Some include her Flamenco background, her political positions about Catalan and recent Spanish elections, and questions about her awards as an Latin artist. LaGusi506 (talk) 00:14, 23 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rosalía's date of birth[edit]

I noticed today that an astrological data collection website named Astro-Databank had a page for Rosalía that described her astrological chart, which comes from a time of birth. A collector working for the website was able to collect Rosalía's birth certificate, which states that she was actually born on September 25, 1992 in San Cugat del Vallés, Spain. The Rodden Rating for her astrological data page says that accuracy for her date and time of birth is AA, meaning that the time can't get anymore accurate than that, given the fact that it was on her birth certificate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Christiancore (talkcontribs) 00:44, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • The website is not reliable. It is very unlikely that someone obtained Rosalía's birth certificate. Btw, her page was created by someone named Isaac who doesn't even have a user page. --Moscow Connection (talk) 10:26, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Bono's profile says: "Data source: From memory" (?!). --Moscow Connection (talk) 10:29, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Taken Rosalía's own words as a mean of validation, she was actually born in 1992. The current link associated in this article with her birth date includes a video interview in which she states this. Why do you allow a wrong date of 1993 when the source picked clearly states that she was born in 1992? Maybe you have some issues with the understanding of her mother tongue. Rosalía (singer)Rosalía – Per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Also, all articles at "Rosalia" (disambiguation page) are written without accent. 7szz (talk) 03:51, 22 April 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. Steel1943 (talk) 20:23, 5 May 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. 晚安 (トークページ) 16:07, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support Per WP:SMALLDETAILS, such as the example of The Wörld Is Yours vs. The World Is Yours. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 12:13, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nomination and ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ. Similar nominations have indeed skewed in support of deleting parenthetical qualifiers from uniquely accented names. In addition to the example provided by ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ, SócratesSócrates (footballer) at Talk:Sócrates#Requested move 28 August 2021 comes to mind. The strongest argument presented in that discussion posited that it was counterintuitive for Sócrates to exist as a redirect to Sócrates (footballer). —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 16:31, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose seriously how is any reader going to spot an extra pixel on an i. (singer) is only helping readers In ictu oculi (talk) 07:40, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • @In ictu oculi: Could you elaborate on this argument? Like, could you describe a scenario where this move would negatively affect the reader experience? Colin M (talk) 14:08, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Colin M: I've had some very negative experience with articles whose titles differ only by a letter.
      Imagine this:
Someone who has previously visited the article "Rosalía", types "Rosalia" in the search box and finds himself in some different place. He types "Rosalia" again with the same result. And he repeats until he is exhausted. Or maybe he googles the singer's name and finds her Wikipedia article and then goes and finds a magnifying glass and then he is finally able to understand his mistake. (If the person is an English speaker and hasn't learned Spanish, he never will.)
I know, I've been in such a situation much more than once. --Moscow Connection (talk) 03:28, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Such a thing actually happened to me just yesterday. I typed a title in the search box and I was redirected to what seemed to be exactly the same title. I tried to spot the difference, but there wasn't any difference! And I then I typed the title again with the same result. I was redirected again! (What I usually do in such a situation is press Ctrl-F in Google Chrome, then type all the characters in the title one by one and search. Until finally a character isn't found. But yesterday I was too busy creating articles and didn't have time to play. So I'm still a bit confused about what happened. And I now don't even remember what article that was, so what happened will remain a mystery forever.) --Moscow Connection (talk) 03:59, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. For those who might be compiling a list containing this type of accented name WP:Other stuff exists, there is also 2011's brief RM at Talk:Thalía#Move?, which is closed with, "The result of the move request was: Page moved. The acute accent is sufficient disambiguation." —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 21:23, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
2011 and a barely attended RM? Talk:Thalía#Move?. I've started a RM to get that reversed. In ictu oculi (talk) 10:51, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Moscow Connection: indeed, amusing when even those voting are wrongfooted by the current title. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:03, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per In ictu oculi. For English speakers, the acute accent is insufficient disambiguation --Moscow Connection (talk) 21:44, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. As has been demonstrated here, if we move the page to "Rosalía", it will disappear from the search suggestions list for "Rosalia". And as a result it will be much harder to find and will get less views. Sócrates (the footballer) is neither in the suggestions for "Socrates". It seems that the Wikipedia software is not ready for such a rename.
Tf the proposer's desire is for the singer to get a more prominent place on the Wiki, he must know that the result will be the opposite. --Moscow Connection (talk) 18:18, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose—I've revised the opening line of Rosalia to include "Rosalía", which wasn't there before. On a similar note, I've added a Template:Distinguish to Socrates (disambiguation) related to Sócrates. I agree with folks that, in general, a difficult to see diacritic, like Í and i with a Dot (diacritic), are not sufficient for disambiguation alone. As for search results ... there is a major difference between actual search results and the lookahead function in the Wikipedia search box. There are pros and cons to aligning the results to one another, but at the moment, it is what it is. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 17:26, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. Since there is a related discussion currently active at Talk:Thalía#Requested move 8 May 2022, editors who might be interested in discovering if WP:Other stuff exists can start by perusing the extensive List of one-word stage names which has numerous names with diacritics as well as numerous accented names, such as Thalía or Rosalía. However, Sócrates and other sportspeople are not on that list and Wikipedia does not (yet?) have a List of one-word sports names.
Among those one-word stage names, there are various entries such as Alişan / Alişan (given name) / Alisan, Alizée / Alizee (horse), Américo / Americo, Anahí / Anahí (disambiguation), Anémone / Anemone (disambiguation), Arcángel / Arcangel redirects to Archangel (disambiguation), Björk / Björk (name), Brädi / Bradi, Céu / CEU, Chorão / Chorão (island) / Rafael Chorão, Clémentine (musician) / Clementine (musician), Dorothée / Dorothee (given name), etc. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 04:10, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

the correct year of birth[edit]

In your own used source Rosalía corrects her year of birth from 1993 to 1992 (and incl. mentions that Wikipedia is not omniscient ;-)...): https://www.huffingtonpost.es/entry/edad-rosalia_es_6115048fe4b07c140311efd7--caita Caita Azpiri (talk) 19:28, 23 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
