A first attempt[edit]

Although I have made several minor edits as an unregistered and registered user, this is my first attempt at doing major editing on an article. I am not knowledgable about the subject (although I listened to CKLW in the 60s-70s), but came here to find out who she was, and saw the "needs wikification" tag. So I've tried my hand at adding links and fleshing it out into an actual article.

In the process, I have determined:

(1) the CKLW article had more interesting material about Rosalie than this article (and I have shamelessly copied some of it and pasted it here largely verbatim). I wonder if that means we don't really need an article on this person (a redirect to CKLW might suffice).

(2) many of the statements made here may well be true, but the closest thing to a reference was the mention of the Radio Revolution documentary near the end of the text. I have included that as an external link, but not a reference, since I don't own the video myself. Also, I cannot verify the exact names or even existence of the awards supposedly won by Ms. Trombley, much less state the date she received them. Any help out there?

(3) There is apparently a "Rosalie Trombley Award", given out during Canadian Music Week. I gather that Rosalie herself spoke at one recent presentation [1], but who determines the recipient? —Signature of interrupted comment: JohnFromPinckney (talk) 05:33, 5 May 2009 (UTC) added 30 January 2010.[reply]

answer: CMW planners wanted to highlight successful women in the radio and music industries. Rosalie Trombley story is inspiring and Ms. Trombley was the first recipient. We have had the pleasure of her company most years. The 2010 recipient is Denis Donlon, Executive Director of CBC radio. March 12, 2010 in Toronto. Here's the Facebook page link to the award: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Canadian-Music-Week-The-Rosalie-Award/134245325004.
There is an initiative underway to have Rosalie Trombley inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. "We have had the pleasure...": Well, great, but, um, who are you? I guess you're involved with some aspect of CMW. Who are you and what do you do? Who's in charge (of CMW or the Rosalie Award)? And to get back to the question presumably answered here (although I admit I do not get it), who determines the recipient of the Rosalie Award? — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 04:15, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

With the lack of citations (on a living person's bio page, yet) and the unencyclopedical exuberance of the original article, I think it's still weak. It probably needs pruning, fleshing out, or just deletion. But at least it's somewhat wikified. ;-) (Any feedback on my work is welcome.) JohnFromPinckney (talk) 05:33, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
