Nobel Peace Prize[edit]

In 1947 she was nominated for Nobel Peace Prize but no one received it the next year.

  • Being nominated for the Peace Prize is an honor, but it is not official and not necessarily prestigious. Any national legislator or about a third of the university professors in the world can make a nomination, and there have been as many as 160 some years. Rumored nominees have included a Brazilian psychic (nominated twice) and an unscrupulous businessmen from Ohio. Nominators are requested to keep their nominations secret, so it's only those wishing publicity who make announcements. In most instances the reports of prize nominations seem to just be unattributed rumors. Altogether, I see no reason to keep it. No offense to the subject, this is a general Nobel Peace Prize "nominees" issue. -Willmcw July 7, 2005 08:02 (UTC)

World Peace Prize[edit]

The article says she won the "World Peace Prize" in 1937. The linked page says the prize was founded in 1989. Qemist (talk) 05:32, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

papers[edit]

I fail to see the sense in the link about her papers when the record that comes up specifically says none of them are online. This should be referenced in the article not as an external link. 108.45.122.74 (talk) 20:35, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

no data on the page linked to[edit]

The free speech page does not have Schwimmer's name on it. None of the links on that page has the title given for the link. Where is this data now? 108.45.122.74 (talk) 20:40, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Archived RS[edit]

Her name[edit]

‎KIENGIR, I do not have a problem with her name being shown in the traditional Hungarian style with her surname first in the lede, but do not think "Bédy-Schwimmer" should be in the lede. According to multiple references, she was known by this name for 1 year, rejected using Bédy when her marriage ended, and kept her marriage a secret for the rest of her life. If she chose to use Schwimmer as a surname, why would we list another name in the lede? Fine to show it as another name in the info box, but I cannot understand why it would have a place in the article, especially in the lede. Can you explain why you think it should be there? Thanks SusunW (talk) 00:10, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I will solve your concern.(KIENGIR (talk) 23:10, 28 October 2019 (UTC))[reply]

The carte-de-visite was created by the Atelier Lackner, VIII Lerchenfelderstraße 38, Vienna. I have done multiple searches, but am unable to locate anything at all on this photography studio. However, the original image is held in the archives of Atria and was stolen by the Nazis as part of the International Archives for the Women's Movement. They note they have the original image, it is in the public domain and was taken in 1890. As these records were returned to Amsterdam in 2003, it is very unlikely that the image was published before that time, except as a visiting card. I checked US newspapers and find no images of Schwimmer published before 1914 and none after that date that were derived from this image. I also checked multiple archives for Austria and Hungary and find no publication of this image for Schwimmer, but admittedly not speaking Hungarian or German, I could have missed an archive. That being said, as it is likely it was not published before Atria received the documents back, it is in the PD as having been created more than 120 years ago. In that case the correct tag is {{PD-US-unpublished}}. I went ahead and added it to the photograph. Fiamh (talk, contribs) 08:12, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"slander against her person"[edit]

The word "person" is awkward and inappropriate in context, unless she had a problem with people calling her short, ugly, etc. 73.71.251.64 (talk) 01:23, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
