More tv show appearance[edit]

Also appeared on numerous episodes on Gomer Pyle USMC 2600:1011:B00A:F985:AC12:F7B5:9F15:1AF3 (talk) 15:18, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

IMDB lists only one appearance by Elliott on Gomer Pyle USMC, on 10/30/64 as "General Wells." Do you have a reliable source saying there were "numerous" appearances? If so, I will add it. Otherwise, that would be just one of many series where Elliott had only a single appearance, which are generally not included in the article. PDGPA (talk) 21:39, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

personal life[edit]

I'd like to add more information on Elliott's personal life and activities. His "Find A Grave" bio (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/21484/ross-elliott), which of course is not itself a WP:RS, says (1) that Elliott was discovered and brought to Hollywood by producer Hal Wallis in 1943; (2) that in 1943 Elliott married fellow Mercury Theatre veteran and Broadway actor Ellen Andrews (see https://playbill.com/person/ellen-andrews-vault-0000078239), but does not say for how long they remained married, and that he was remarried in 1954 to Esther ("Sue") Melling, a Hollywood wigmaker, and remained so for the rest of his life; (3) that Elliott was "an honorary member of Actors Equity, presided on the board of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, [and] was supportive of the Motion Picture and Television Fund"; (4) that Elliott "was one of the founding members of the Canyon Theatre Guild, [and] had been a theatrical instructor for the Pasadena Playhouse"; and (5) that Elliott retired in 1986 and thereafter "spent the final years of his life being a regular attendee at autograph conventions and was a generous benefactor for several libraries and state parks." If anyone with access to Broadway or Hollywood history sources, or to databases of Los Angeles area news and magazines, could tie any or all of this info to reliable sources and add it, I think that would be a worthy improvement to the article.
