Decade[edit]

The information here on the running date differs by a decade from the information at List of closed Melbourne railway stations - which is right? Josh Parris # 04:32, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

All links I can find online, including the official Glen Eira City Council pages, say 1888. Citizen D 22:18, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
It could have been a slipup on my part; feel free to change it if the other sources say '88. I've had a half-finished major expansion of this article (well, when I started it, this article didn't exist), as well as an article on its founder, in the works for quite a while. When I get back to Canberra permanently in January, I'll dig out Return to Rosstown from the National Library and check it out. Ambi 10:59, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I've been meaning to get down to the Glen Eira library to check out that same publication purely out of fascination with Ross and the Railway story. I actually live in Caulfield South (a block away from one of the reserves where the line once ran) so if you need any present day photos or first hand observations, let me know. Citizen D 04:08, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I've already started taking notes for articles on both Ross and the Railway; I suspect with another one or two days at the library I could well be able to finish them. Photos of the reserves would be fantastic, though, if at all possible. :) Ambi 04:44, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Lovely rewrite! Sorry I haven't been of much use at all so far. Ambi 05:54, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers Ambi. I think it may be over-wikified but I'm hoping others will edit it as needed in regards to style. More to come too. Citizen D 07:18, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Line Guide[edit]

Do we really need a Line Guide for a defunct railway line, that already has a great diagram, that may or may not have evern actually run a passenger train? I'll leave it for a few days to discuss. Citizen D (talk) 21:51, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No discussion so removing Citizen D (talk) 00:35, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Was there a Rosstown siding?[edit]

While perusing the maps in the vicinity of the Rosstown railway route I noticed roads that suggest another line (or at least a siding) heading south from the western side of Carnegie Station and likely bounded by Toolambool Road and Railway Road (a certain giveaway) and reaching the eastern end of Koornang Park. Perhaps a note regrading this line/siding can be added to the article. 58.108.61.206 (talk) 08:14, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@58.108.61.206 have a look at the route map in the infobox at the top of the page. The section you are referring to is the connection from Carnegie to the Sugar Works. According to my research, this section was never built (same with the connection to the Frankston line). -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 08:45, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
