Merge proposals

[edit]

In accordance with [1] the Wikipedia notes on writing about settlements, one of the recommendations is that, in order to reduce the number of stubs, villages and other settlements within a civil parish should be in one article. Hence the proposals to add Eridge and Mark Cross to this article. Peter Shearan (talk) 06:07, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Schools

[edit]

Is the Jamahat-ul-Islamyah school at Mark Cross open any more? I was under the impression that it had closed after failing several OFSTed inspections Dom Kaos (talk) 23:52, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the link to the commercial website for the Mark Cross Inn: the rules regarding spam on Wikipedia are quite clear: "[a]dding external links to an article or user page for the purpose of promoting a website or a product is not allowed, and is considered to be spam."

On the same subject, I fail to see the need, in the Boarshead section, for mentioning that the public golf course "is situated next to Crowborough Rugby Football Club." To me, this looks suspiciously like the sort of "how to find us" blurb you'd find on a promotional leaflet or website. Unless someone can come up with a compelling argument for keeping this sentence, I'm tempted to get rid of it Dom Kaos (talk) 14:47, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No objections, so I have Dom Kaos (talk) 18:57, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
