Name of the district[edit]

Currently the article starts "Rotorua Lakes District or Rotorua District is ..." and the History sections says that since Nov 2014 "the district has been known as Rotorua Lakes and ...". That is three different names, with no sources provided for any of them. Can we find any sources that state what the name of the district is? I don't mean just examples of usage. I suspect that all three names are used, in which case it is not wrong to include them all, though I suspect the latter statement in the History section should be modified so that readers do not assume that since 2014 it has been known exclusively as Rotorua Lakes. Looking at StatsNZ datasets for Territorial Authority (checking 2006, 2013 and 2021 versions), they have always referred to the authority as "Rotorua District". Shouldn't this the the article name? +mt 22:19, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The difference between the operating and official names of the council is discussed in the article. What matters to Wikipedia is the council's common name. Schwede66 19:29, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Page Protection[edit]

Can I suggest the recent expiration of page protection not be reinstituted unless the suggestions in User talk:222.152.205.55 are disregarded. ChaseKiwi (talk) 15:00, 10 March 2024 (UTC).[reply]
