Titles of "Roxy Theatre" articles

Is it possible to change the title of an article? Wouldn't it be better to title this article "Roxy Theatre (NYC)" and the Tennessee theatre "Roxy Theatre (Clarksville, TN)" to avoid confusion? The New York Roxy's name was never "theater" with an "er" that's really an error. It was always spelled "theatre". And of course the NY theatre was the original "Roxy", named after its creator Samuel Rothafel.

There are many more "Roxy Theatres" around the country, some of which may be written about here eventually, so it seems to me that identifying them all by location in the title will save confusion in the long run.

Exact location?

When I enter 153 West 50th Street, it gives me the Hotel Taft. Where exactly was the Roxy? Anybody know the coordinates? --Ragemanchoo (talk) 10:20, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

The entrance to the Roxy was in the Hotel Taft building on the NE corner of 50th and 7th. The theatre itself was directly behind, i.e. east, adjoining the hotel. To enter, audiences passed through a low entrance lobby from 7th Ave to the Grand Foyer in the actual theatre building. Markhh (talk) 02:56, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Seating capacity

While the Roxy was promoted at its opening as having a seating capacity of 6,214, for the bulk of its existence it was reported as seating about 5,700. While replacement of the original seats could account for this, (were they replaced?)...there is speculation in various articles that the Roxy literally counted every "seat" in the house, including toilets and dressing room chairs, to come up with this impressive number. Does anyone have information whether this was ever actually the true seating capacity of the theater and if so, what alteration accounted for the lower number later on? Thanks! Which dollars?

Roxy's lavish ideas and many changes ran up costs dramatically. A week before the theater opened, Lubin, $2.5 million over budget and near bankruptcy, sold his controlling interest to movie mogul and theater owner William Fox for $5 million. The theater's final cost was $12 million.

Is that really in 1926-27 dollars? That would've been a truly tremendous amount of dough ($194 million in 2022 dollars, according to Bank of Canada's Inflation Calculator). One way or the other, I think that should be specified, don't you? – AndyFielding (talk) 11:18, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
