"...his son in law continued the business, he did chase off many a visitor at gunpoint."

Can this be clarified with perhaps a citation please? --Marriedtofilm 05:07, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LA Times published a solid article today. --Bobak 21:02, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to do my best to clean this up and expand it. I don't feel that this should have been redirected to the Amboy article in the first place. This was the very nexus of the town and was run by the man who built it. It's not exactly around the corner from where I live, but it's not terribly far. I'll get pictures next time I'm out that way. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 08:47, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Finished for now. I need to find my copy of the excellent Michael Wallis book, Route 66: The Mother Road which has a wealth of info on Roy's. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 18:51, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I can personally vouch for the comments regarding the availability of food and gas. Gas was more than thirty percent higher than anywhere else in the state. However, they used to serve a pretty good chili dog. Good luck, Albert! Hope to return to Roy's soon. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 18:55, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently the restaurant is no longer in operation (and this for a few years now) as the railroad no longer transports water to Amboy? I'd be curious to know if any further progress has been made these last few years in restoring anything. K7L (talk) 02:16, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The whole place was looking very down at heel when I passed through in September 2016. Mr Larrington (talk) 12:09, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
