Format

[edit]

The format is wrong, places are normally mentioned either in brackets or after a comma. The official name of the castle is only "Royal Castle", without the "in Warsaw". Also see Presidential Palace, Warsaw for reference. Gryffindor 17:46, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Demolition date

[edit]

The castle has been blown up by the Germans in November of 1944, not in September as the article says. Exact date is even known, I believe 22nd. (Unsigned comment by 83.31.196.234)

See detailed analysis on this subject. The castle was already destroyed on 18 September 1944, as visible on Soviet air reconnaisance photos. At least the northern half was already destroyed on 13 September 1944, as visible on German film footage. · Naive cynic · 11:41, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New article name

[edit]

I am not too found of the current article name. Its just doesn't sound quite right in English. My suggestions would be Warsaw Royal Castle or Royal Castle (Warsaw) or even Royal Castle of Warsaw. The current article name just doesn't like a correct English-language name. --84.153.35.100 00:24, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I will be doing the review of this article. I typically like to do my reviews in several parts...I start with general suggestions and then get more specific. Here are my initial suggestions:

  • References go directly behind punctuation without a space between.
  • Much of the history isn't referenced.
  • There are some POV issues. For example: This was an excellent design, which harmonized extremely well with the older parts of the castle buildings..
  • The Curiosity section reads like WP:TRIVIA. The info needs to be merged into the rest of the article or removed.
  • The majority of the references are from a primary source (the castle's website). It needs additional third party reliable sources for verifiability.

I'll give seven days for improvement. Nikki311 01:34, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry to inform the editors of this article that I am failing it due to lack of progress. Feel free to work on the issues raised and nominate the article at a later date. Thanks. Nikki311 17:40, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Clock

[edit]

The clock is specifically mentioned, but the article is already rather over-stuffed with images and I don't know if it would be appropriate to move any of them. So I'll put this new image here and defer to others. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 14:42, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
