Winners from spot #1 and why it's important

This is stated in the article:

To date, only two men have won the Royal Rumble match starting from the number one spot, with Shawn Michaels being the first to do this in 1995, followed by Chris Benoit in 2004.

I understand that WWE likes to count this as somehow more impressive than starting from spot #2, but is there any point to the article doing the same thing? Vince McMahon (1999) and Rey Mysterio (2006) both won starting from the number two spot according to the Royal Rumble article, shouldn't that either be mentioned or the statistic be removed entirely?
