Reasons for articles length
[edit]As is must have been observed, the article is quite small, just over 9,000 bytes. The reason is that the song is actually very insignificant as it was not commercially successful. Also, The song was released only in two countires (United States and Germany), thus not having any noticeable chart activities. It was also the last single. Due to these resons which i have stated, i could not expand the article much as there are very less reliable sources which talk about the song. As a result, it is small, even though i have tried my best. Thank you! :-) Indianescence (talk)
GA review (ON HOLD)
[edit]OK i am your reviewer today, lets begin. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 05:36, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Things to improve
[edit]- Remove full stop at end of picture caption
- I have done it.
- 1 reference date isnt formatted correctly. The month always comes before the the number.
- I have done it. Its April 19 now.
- You have a critical and a chart performance section. Instead give it a reception heading with sub headings called "critical" and "commercial".
- I have done that too :)
- Dont say "early", be specific it came out in april. Infact an exact date would be helpful with citation.
- I am very sorry that i had the date wrong initially. When i checked into Billboard and Amazon, it turned out to be July 1, 2003. I have met with all the requirements, cited it too.
- Dont bother with (see 2003 in music), just wikilink 2003 to 2003 in music, no need for the extra bracketed part.
- Yup, Done.
- The album came out in 2001, wikilink that date to 2001 in music.
- I have done it.
- The lead if full of stuby sentances, try joining them together.
- I have joined them, as you can see.
- Wiki linking the lead, things link studio album and music video.
- Linking done :)
- You are wikilinking words but it should be linked at the first instance the word appears in article.
- Yes, checked that.
- "spacier sound" - strange wording
- I am sorry, but these are quotes from the liner notes of the album. If you want i can explain the mening of that in the article, but that would give a bias feeling.
- It took the song to producer Nellee Hooper, who stripped "Running" down to the basics. - who is it?
- Oops! Sorry, grammar mistake. Done that :)
- The "background" section is full of stuby sentances, some can be joined.
- Joined them.:-)
- Running should be in italics not "Running" but Running.
- Done that too, have a look.
- In the chart performance section you start with US charts, switch to german chart, then go back to US charts. Do one country after the other.
- Shifted sentences. Now U.S comes first, then Germany and finally UWC.
- The song charted on the United World Chart for only a week and peaked at number thirty-eight. Altogether, the song's chart performance was average as it charted in those countries only where it as released. - doesnt make sense.
- I have made the changes. Hope that its clear now.
- Directer of music video needs sourcing.
- Done, provided reliable source.
- The music video section is just a bunch of stuby 6 word sentances. That needs working.
- Yes, i have joined them.
- The last part on the music video needs sourcing.
- I don't think i can source this. This is because when i searched for the song in the databases of these sites, they were not found anywhere, clearly showing that the video failed to chart. Indianescence (talk) 08:47, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
OK, i think you can do these things quite quickly. I have put the article on hold, it has a good chance when you sort out these things. When you have finished the list contact me at my talk page. You have a week but i can let it go a little longer. L ook forward to hearing from you soon. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 06:14, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
2nd round
[edit]OK , im going to go through it again pretending the above never occured, that way i spot things i might not has seen the first time around, just wait until i finish and then you can crack on with it.
- No need to source the date in the lead part, its already sourced in info box.
- Removed that.
- There needs to be a clear source that shows it was only released in germany and america, just because it didnt chart anywhere else doesnt mean it wasnt released anywhere else.
- Why was it released in Germany, instead of the UK? Its a rather random country for it to be exclusively released. Are they popular in germany?
- This is an answer to both, number 2 and 3. I had misinterpreted a source which said, "German IMPORT single copy" while another one said, "U.S. single copy" which made me confused. But the Billboard source says it was released worldwide, thus i have made the changes.
- Mention united world chart position in lead.
- Done that.
- The music video section needs additional sourcing, its original research, it will fail a critera. The picture helps but it doesnt describe everything does it.
- The music video is a collage of may pictures of the band. If i put one shot, it will describe only one thing. I felt this is the best picture as it shows the band on the beach as well as how they look in it. Can you be more clear which part of the music video section needs sourcing? The description of a music video is never sourced.
- Try to give a definition of "spacier ... " ill look at it and consider if its ok.
- Spacier sounds means that there is a large interval between two sounds/beats, thus making it sound emptier. This was just a rough definition. I hope you got the idea. If you want, we can include the meaning in the article.
- Was anything good said about the song, a lot of negatives.
- The first two and the Entertainment Weekly review are positive, but i will search for another one. Indianescence (talk) 13:39, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Ok that whats left, not too much at all. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 09:35, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
