maybe this article should say something about the humor group Grotescos Russian parody "Tingaling" which seemed to cause some reactions in Russia. and more about the number of people dying in wars, Valdemar/Vladimir, Russias attack on previously Swedish territory Finland, and some mention about socialistic/communistic influences. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.81.112.53 (talk) 11:57, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Changed to more neutral language regarding wars. Moved information about Nord Stream to the History section, as construction of the pipeline has been underway for a while, with one of two pipes already operational. In the process, I removed information that did not seem relevant to the topic (Russia–Sweden relations, not Swedish law and politics) and in some cases was disputed or outdated (Ulrica Schenström has publicly denied working for Nord Stream, http://magasinetneo.se/files/2010/06/2009-3_cdcac573ebdedd46c27225aa149a05d2.pdf, and the investigation into donations to Gotland University has been dropped, http://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/almedalsveckan/article11901642.ab).--OttoG (talk) 15:08, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Total lie about Russia[edit]

Historically the two countries have been connected since ancient days, when Swedish Vikings traded on the big Russian rivers and settled in slavic settlements that later became large cities such as Novgorod and Kyiv. These settlements gave rise to mutual bonds were also dynastical, as a Varangian king (Rurik) started a dynasty that came to rule uninterruptedly from the 9th to 16th century as depicted in the Nestors chronicle. Even the name Russia is said to emanate from Varangians as the old name for Vikings in the east were Rus.- This part is a lie because Kyiv is a Ukrainian city and Kyivska Rus is a country that later on became Ukraine, it has nothing to do with Moscovia (true name of Russia- renamed from Moscovia at 18th century to steal Ukrainan history).
