slow-mo edit war over name in Russian

[edit]

Posting here in the probably vain hope that this person will engage instead of just doing it again: I have twice now removed the supposed Russian translation of the name of this river. The reason is simple: there is no evidence that the name is from the Russian America period, having first been reported in 1904 according to the GNIS source used in the article. It is therefore irrelevant. (I also find it highly unlikely that the Russians themselves would've named it "Russian River" and personally always suspected it was kind of a lame joke about the "rushing" current but I don't have a source to back that up) Beeblebrox (talk) 02:50, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
