Tolstoy Excommunication[edit]

It says that the Russian Orthodox church forbade people to receive charity from Tolstoy because he was excommunicated, but according to Tolstoy's own page, he was excommunicated in 1901, not 1891, so something is amiss here. Can anyone find a source for the details on what the church actually did when Tolstoy did famine relief in 1891?Reesorville (talk) 08:13, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Loans[edit]

I have a strong feeling that it should be like "Based on some American sources,[who?] the Russian government (through the Department of the Interior)[specify] provided financial assistance to certain Russian regions (guberniyas), mainly in the form of loans, in the amount of US$75 million (equivalent to $2.1 billion in 2021)." It was a close equivalent of 150 millions roubles mentioned before. And it's Department of Internal, how it could operate in another country? 46.138.1.220 (talk) 20:02, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Typo in §Weather[edit]

I strongly suspect 'water' in the 4th sentence should read as 'winter', but I'll defer to others. Munchyhunch (talk) 10:40, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
