The Merchant's Wife[edit]

The Merchant's Wife. is not exactly how painting is called in original language (Russian). In Russian it's more like "Купчиха за чаем" -> "The She-Merchant at drinking tea". Russian "купчиха" has two meanings: 1) female merchant, 2) merchant's wife. See Ushakov's dictionary. --Off-shell (talk) 05:56, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
