Birth date

[edit]

Since no one is really sure when Tedder's birth date is (or at least no one has a reference yet), I just erased everything but the year, since that's the only thing we're sure of at the moment.

But I'm pretty sure that he wasn't born in January. In an interview in some Australian radio station he mentioned that he is still 28. They were in Australia late March to April 10.

IMDB isn't that reliable either, it seems that they got their birthdate from wikipedia. UnkEdit (talk) 05:52, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I believe we have solved the mystery of Ryan Tedder's birth date, UnKEdit. :> During OneRepublic's performance at the Isle of MTV concert on June 25, 2008, Ryan announced to the audience that it was his birthday and everyone sang Happy Birthday to him. I would say that's pretty reliable info. Idecipher (talk) 18:22, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I sent OneRepublic an e-mail (1RQUESTIONS@GMAIL.COM) asking Ryan's birthday and they replied June 26. They say on their myspace that they answer the questions themselves, and I think thats pretty reliable. If I had a concert 1 day before my birthday, I'd have everybody sing Happy Birthday to me too :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.229.114.118 (talk) 05:12, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the Birth Date is now correct.

Awards

[edit]

I'm really surprised to see the lack of this. Please include nominations, there are at least 10 grammy awards or noms mentioned in the article. 86.144.223.115 (talk) 17:50, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll look up some information and that kind of thing, add that info to the page if it is reliable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stratplayer929 (talkcontribs) 23:57, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality/Formality

[edit]

Refer to Talk:OneRepublic#Neutrality/Formality for details. And yes, the production part of the article should be split. I'll be working on that. --PenaltyKillahJw21 19:34, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I did a bit of cleaning up, removed a ton of repeated info from the producing section. I dont know how many times we need to praise him for co-writing bleeding love, but im guessing just once will suffice!! That section was reading like a fan page and I dont think a list of his writing credits is even necessary there as it should all be included in his discography. What else needs doing? "Tedder wrote the two most played songs in radio history"

[edit]

I removed the unsourced sentence in the lead that said "Tedder is credited with having written the two most played songs in radio history ("Apologize", "Bleeding Love")." Before doing so, I searched for sources that would confirm the statement, but found nothing that would remotely back up that claim. In fact, the one reliable source I found directly contradicts that statement, as it appears Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" holds the record for the most weekly spins (which still isn't the same thing as "most played song in radio history", even if Tedder's songs held the record for most weekly spins.) --Ella Plantagenet (talk) 13:34, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Associated acts inflation

[edit]

Could the associated acts be trimmed? Some of the people or bands listed aren't associated acts at all, but instead people Tedder wrote for once or twice. Thanks. Acalamari 15:07, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes they can. OneRepublic should stay, but I think the rest can probably go because, although I don't know that much about it, from looking at articles it's either "Association of producers, managers, etc. (who are themselves acts) with other acts" or "One-time collaboration for a single, or on a single song". Some make no mention of Tedder at all. Many many infoboxes on Wikipedia suffer associated acts inflation. –anemoneprojectors15:22, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed they do! I've been cutting quite a few associated acts these past few months; too often people conflate "associated acts" with "anyone with a minor link". Yes, I knew OneRepublic should stay because he's a member of that group, but I've cut the rest. Acalamari 18:41, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Good call. –anemoneprojectors17:19, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"During the last quarter of 2013, and the first of 2014, he charted four Top 40 hits, a record no other producer or songwriter had ever achieved"

[edit]

No other songwriter has ever had as many as four top 40 hits in a six-month period? That is clearly utter nonsense - in the 60s there were often five or more Lennon/McCartney songs in the top 40 all at the same time -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 20:27, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Solo career

[edit]

His first non-republic collaboration dates back to 2003, not 2019. I believe songs prior this date exist, too. Маргарита Бабовникова (talk) 12:34, 25 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
