Hi, I have moved this over for citing and possible replacement, I also note, the content was a bit opinionated, as in his eagerness t help people urged him to enter politics, this is imo weaselly and encyclopedic style, this should be considered and improved if someone wants to cite and replace the content, thanks. He was born in a small village near Vedasandur. He completed his law degree and worked as a lawyer in Dindigul high court, after graduation'

His eagerness to help people urged him to enter politics. Gandhirajan was also a big fan of M. G. Ramachandran ("MGR"), former chief minister of Tamil Nadu); as soon as he heard about MGR's new party All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), he rushed to join the party and serve the people with the guidance of MGR. Gandhirajan was involved in community service and helped people in his town, which made him popular among the people.

After MGR's death Gandhirajan decided to move under the leadership of J. Jayalalitha, who won control of the party (AIADMK) from MGR's widow. He won the state assembly elections in 1991 with Jayalalitha as the chief minister. His popularity was increasing more than ever in his constituency. He was appointed as the water board chairman and later on he served as the Deputy Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 1993 to 1996. These posts were given to him mainly because of his eloquent speech and raising popularity in his constituency and other districts near to it. He lost in the elections conducted in 1996, because of his party. From the next election he was not offered to contest elections. This was mainly due to work of some insiders, which Gandhirajan realized very late in 2007 and decided to leave AIADMK. He decided to continue his community service by joining D.M.K.
