The list of past conferences, execs, and presidents doesn't seem to add much for a encyclopedia entry. I think it actually detracts by implying that this is all we can say about it. Should these be moved to the organisation's web site (public or member-only) instead? -- JDX 05:40, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, more information has to be added instead. It's on my list of things to do. Steven Plunkett 07:58, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK then. -- JDX 06:47, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Sage-au.gif[edit]

Image:Sage-au.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:47, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed, but someone should check that all the conditions have been met (and yes, the rationale is needlessly duplicated in Image:Sage-au.gif).
In particular, there may be better terms than fair use in this instance. -- JDX 04:46, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SAGE-AU Executive Committees[edit]

The article SAGE-AU Executive Committees has been deleted. As it's probably futile to try to keep it, the subsection SAGE-AU#SAGE-AU Executive Committees is going to need a rewrite. The same is true for the Australian LUG reference, if there's anyone familiar with that community. -- JDX 03:59, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SAGE-AU - The Mystery E[edit]

What does the E stand for? Why is it there? These are the questions that people are demanding to know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.200.233.26 (talk) 22:22, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No real mystery as it's not really an acronym. SAGE is wise, but SAG is droopy, so SAGE (US) adopted that name and SAGE-AU followed. JDX (talk) 00:38, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Keeping article up to date[edit]

Whatever is decided should be the content, I think it must be kept up to date. Unless some else kindly updates it soon I intend to add the current president and upcoming conference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sam Lor (talkcontribs) 22:07, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Surely this the SAGE-AU National Executive should be maintaining this article (like I was, when I was on that committee), or they should nominate a caretaker. Steven Plunkett (talk) 23:52, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
