Mascot

Hello, I'm Brazilian. I'd like to say the current Palmeira's mascot is a pig, not a Parakeet anymore. The Parakeet has been forgotten since years ago. Please, forgive if you find here any language errors (laughs).

The offical colors are greenand white , not a black and white of the picture, I believe someone change it is a joke.

Yes, the fans might be tending to prefering the pig, but the official maskot is still the parakeet. Tufts 11:22, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Palmeiras Symbol.png

Image:Palmeiras Symbol.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:02, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Current Years Section is Outdated

The last contribution to that section was a small snippet on the 2007 Brasileirao. Considering we're already in april of 2008, it is outdated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.53.186.210 (talk) 10:32, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

The origin of the "pig" nickname

In 1969, two Corinthians players died in a car crash. As the Campeonato Paulista had already begun, the team requested the Federação Paulista permission to enroll two more players past the normal deadline. All members approved, except Palmeiras' president Delfino Facchina. This infuriated Corinthians' president Wadih Helu, who called Facchina a "pig's spirit" - a Brazilian slang that refers to a callous, insensitive person.[1][2][3] --Stormwatch (talk) 22:06, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

Request to semi-protect SE Palmeiras page

Sociedade Palmeiras must be protected due to vandalism of club wiki page due to users deleting informations or addiding false information. This is a historic team in Brazilian football and should be protected like any other important team

Not done: requests for increases to the page protection level should be made at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. --allthefoxes (Talk) 18:11, 6 February 2016 (UTC)

Request for page protection

Agreed with request for page protection of vandalism due to huge rivalry with other Brazilian clubs supporters. Also believe Honors section should be standardized. See example of Santos FC, conquests are divided by International and National competitions, but not exclude conquers as "Defuncted Titles'. This kind of reduces importance of former conquests, and also would be conflicting to National Championship of Brazil that had other names in past and could never be considered defuncted. Maybe this was an act of vandalism as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.116.175.207 (talk) 15:16, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
