  • I assume she was named after some minor royal or other, but mind telling us whom?
    • This one would be Ariadne, the Greek goddess - a number of German ships (and other navies' ships as well, like all of the HMS Ariadnes) were named after mythological figures
  • "the artillery school ship SMS Mars," SMS Mars is a dab link, and why are we showing the SMS here when you otherwise don't?
    • Ah, I had meant to check that and add the dab, but apparently forgot.
  • "on other cruise to the Caribbean" Think you mean 'another'.
    • I blame the keyboard - must not have recognized those strokes ;)
