Source availablilty[edit]

A small dilemma - The newspaper article [1] does not appear to be available online from an original source. However, I have a copy of it (because I am related to Captain Holkham) and have reproduced the text on the (non-commercial) genealogical page of my (commercial) website. As the article contains a great deal of information, including the names and addresses of all Mona's Queen crew at the time of the sinking, and also details about the King Orry (also sunk at Dunkirk) I thought it would be helpful to have an external link to the text on my site. I incorrectly tried to do this without discussion but would still like to make the article available. Any thoughts? Thanks. Tony Holkham (talk) 19:08, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can't really answer this one. I think you will get more visibility if you post the question at the WikiProject Ships. -- Alexf(talk) 13:32, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

While Operation Dynamo is widely regarded as the Manx Steam Packet's 'finest hour',[1] it was also one of its darkest times. Along with the Mona's Queen, Fenella was sunk by air attack while embarking troops in Dunkirk harbour on 29 May and King Orry sank off the beaches in the early hours of 30 May after sustaining heavy damage following several air attacks the day before.
