Alien Spacecraft

[edit]

Yes, this was the flight with supposed alien contact. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYtHwvyCST4 at 7:53 on the video, Discovery says, "we still have the alien space craft under observance". Make of it what you will. DRAC250 (talk) 12:43, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The material on the "alien space craft" has been removed as it was unsourced. This YouTube video doesn't impress me as a reliable source. All the instances I could find of this were either speculative UFO websites or simply the 1 transmission taken out of context. Claims that CAPCOM's response was to switch to another frequency are not backed up by any of the audio recordings I've heard. Even if the quote is accurate it is likely explained by the fact that astronauts are well known to joke around with their fellow astronauts in the CAPCOM role. Until a reliable source (newspaper, magazine, book, etc) is found mentioning this transmission, it shouldn't be restored to the article.--RadioFan (talk) 13:05, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The "Alien Spacecraft" that John E. Blaha was (jokingly) referring to was most likely the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) that was deployed during that flight. But this is just my own WP:OR. -- œ 23:11, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

These should be added to the article, but it probably won't be anything groundbreaking. Definitely notable though. Here's a start:
