Name change and plans for Newburgh[edit]

OCCC has changed its name to SUNY-Orange. May I suggest renaming, or redirecting as appropriate.

"Currently, OCCC is undergoing expansion in the city of Newburgh. These new facilities will be their new main campus and house their Nursing and Science departments."

This is not accurate, may I suggest it be updated to:

Currently, SUNY-Orange is undergoing a Master Plan initiative that includes updating its Middletown facilities and expanding its offerings at the Newburgh Extension Campus. As of July, 2006, the Orange County Legislature is working with SUNY-Orange to decide on future plans for Newburgh, which may include building a branch campus there.

--> Note, Newburgh would NOT be SUNY-Orange's new main campus. Middletown will remain the main campus; at most Newburgh will become a branch campus (a step up from the extension center it is now.)

--> Additionally, any curriculum decisions about the new campus are at this point completely provisional.

Declining Enrollment remove as a section[edit]

I have removed the Declining Enrollment as a section for two reasons. Firstly, enrollment itself is covered in the Academic Profile. Secondly, the section is titled Declining Enrollment, implying that this was notable or unusual just at SUNY Orange, which it is not, it is something seen country wide per: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/26/education/in-a-recovering-economy-a-decline-in-college-enrollment.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

In 1945 Orange County did not have a college and, except for West Point, there was no college from New York City to Schenectady, New York, west of the Hudson River[edit]

This seems to be an exaggeration. Quick list of colleges west of the Hudson in 1945: 2 that are now called SUNY New Paltz and SUNY Albany. I suppose the reference to Schenectady is Union. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.196.22.81 (talk) 16:54, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
