Redirect?[edit]

Should this page redirect to Nelumbo nucifera? That is the plant this is referring to is it not? --Judzillah 05:52, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article here deals with role of the lotus in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism and should be expanded than redirected. --Redtigerxyz Talk 13:00, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think not...Both are very technical and maybe a little too technical...didn't even state the meanings!!!!!!!!♥♥♥ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.49.100.205 (talk) 23:00, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Did'ja forget something?[edit]

Article seems preoccupied with "Eastern" religious symbolism. Did they completely forget about Egyptian mythology which also features the Lotus in its creation myths? Hindus and Buddhists don't have a monopoly on the mythological use of the Lotus.
