False references?

[edit]

I just deleted a section in the article about a future event at the college because I was suspicious about the point of it being there and I couldn't verify the reference. The remaining section under "The future" also looks wrong, which really brings into doubt all the of the content recently added. Not one reference in this article has a link to allow it to be verified. I'm very tempted to revert all of the recent addition. What do others think? Maybe the recent author can explain/defend? --TimTay (talk) 22:58, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I removed the whole hoax. It was obviously good enough to fool all the editors who have edited the article since User:StephenBird added the info on Feb 27th. --TimTay (talk) 07:19, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

? False references (again)

[edit]

A lot of content has been added to this article today, with suitable looking references, however I am unable to find any of them online when I would expect the archives of Bath Chronicle, Bristol Evening Post & BBC to show up - therefore I suspect much of the material is made up &, even if funny in places, should be removed. Does anyone else have any thoughts?

On further checking I've reverted it myself as I do not believe it & can't find the references cited.— Rod talk 16:58, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It was the same childish hoax content added by StephenBird (talk · contribs) last year. Perhaps it is even the same person (which is very easy for an admin to check if necessary as user's IP addresses are logged whenever they make an edit) I suspect it is just bored school children playing around. I'll keep an eye on the article.--Simple Bob (talk) 18:04, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
