1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct. "The flag bearer for the team at the Opening Ceremony was first-time Olympian Virgil Hodge." Why does "opening ceremony" have a capital letter?

"just ahead of Benin's Fabienne Fereaz" How far is just ahead? Too vague! Please clarify.

"She was placed in Heat 3 during the Qualification round on August 15" Why does "heat" have a capital letter?

"Hodge competed during Quarterfinals, in which she was placed in Heat 1" Why does "heat" have a capital letter?

Only whole numbers under 10 are spelled out. You need to type numbers over than (e.g 85). For example, you say "for twenty-eighth place out of eighty-five sprinters,"

"She did not progress to Semifinals" Why does "semi finals" have a capital letter?

Please work on the grammar. (Capital letters)

"Tiandra (Angie) Ponteen" Would look much better as Tiandra "Angie" Ponteen

The grammar could be improved, I would suggest submitting it for a copy edit at WP:GOCE, or maybe do it yourself or ask someone else.

1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation. Layout: A non-breaking space - (   ) needs to be between a number and the unit of measurement. You don't do this with the seconds.
2. Verifiable with no original research:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline. Ref 1 - Needs author.

Ref 2 - Needs author.

Ref 3 - Needs author.

Ref 4 - Has formatting issues, please sort it out. Also, multi page PDFs need page refernces.

Ref 5 - Needs author.

Ref 6 - Needs author.

Ref 7 - Needs author.

Ref 8 - Needs author.

Ref 9 - Needs author.

Ref 10 - Needs author.

Ref 11 - Needs author.

2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose). Please provide a citation in the infobox about Virgil Hodge being the flag bearer. Also, why is the end of the background section randombly broken up? It would look much better to keep it as a paragraph.
2c. it contains no original research.
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic. It says there are no medals, is this true? It would help to provide a citation.
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
7. Overall assessment. I am placing the article on hold. Please fix the issues above and then the article will pass.

I hope you don't mind if I place my comments updates below the table. My knowledge of wiki-formatting is rudimentary, and I'd rather not accidentally distort the box. In any case, thank you for taking on this review. I appreciate it. :)
