Somebody said in the history section that Sauron is not the Lord of the Rings. My response to this person is you should read the books: they are very good.

Voice acting

[edit]

When it is said Mr Baker got to play the part of Sauron, I assume he played the physical part, in the scenes from the Battle of the Last Alliance, and the duel with Aragorn (shot but cut out in editing). But in the film, Sauron's voice is heard several times in scenes where the Eye appears. Did he also provide that voice? (I assume it was heavily treated in SFX, yet...) --Svartalf 00:53, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sala played the physical part. The voice of Sauron, I think, was Alan Howard - I know he did the Ring's voice. But since 99% of the dialogue in the Lord of the Rings movies was recorded in a studio well after the scenes were shot, a lot of the actors didn't do the actual voices for their characters - such as Jed Brophy, who played Sharku and Snaga, Lawrence Makoare, who played Gothmog and the Witchking, and who knows how many extras. Guys like Andy Serkis and Craig Parker, who did spend a lot of time in the studio, ended up doing a lot of the voices for these characters. 69.210.66.153 19:49, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
