scots politician[edit]

I suggest the Scottish politician is the primary meaning. PatGallacher (talk) 13:11, 25 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

SalmondSalmond (surname) – And redirecting "Salmond" to Alex Salmond: WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. Tim O'Doherty (talk) 17:57, 16 May 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. CLYDE TALK TO ME/STUFF DONE (please mention me on reply) 23:13, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose Salmond is a surname, not a mononym for the 2000s politician. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:48, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nor is Yousaf, but that still redirects to Humza Yousaf. Tim O'Doherty (talk) 14:54, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It didn't, until it was moved without discussion a couple of months ago. Station1 (talk) 18:52, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There may be a legitimate debate about whether Humza Yousaf is the primary meaning of Yousaf, but that's not what we are discussing here. PatGallacher (talk) 20:43, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support In ictu oculi seems to have misunderstood how primary topic operates. Love him or loathe him he does look like the primary topic. PatGallacher (talk) 17:48, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • https://wikinav.toolforge.org/?language=en&title=Salmond doesn't even render any graphs because the total traffic was 35 views in a period of a month. I don't think a usage argument for primary topic can be made with such a small readership. Is anyone actually making the claim that we astonish all of those 35 viewers right now, by telling them that Salmond is a surname, and here's Alex Salmond right at the top? --Joy (talk) 14:08, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Since the answer seems to be no, I don't think we should be making any changes here. --Joy (talk) 07:35, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per IIO. No evidence that Alex Salmond is the primary topic here.  — Amakuru (talk) 13:19, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
