This article has seemingly been extensively edited by its own subject or editors close to him
[edit]This article appears to have been edited by the subject himself or someone on his behalf (one edit by the user User:Harapuku was summarized with: "Updated my photo with a more recent one"), and the article itself is filled with poorly cited information and flowery, self-promotional language.
I'm going to go through and remove all the information that does not have proper citation and the unencyclopedic/promotional language. It is also much too long for a contemporary film director who has only made one film (The Other Conquest) over 30 years ago. In fact, that film's own article is also full of information without any citations, and is a mess in terms of proper Wikipedia article formatting. Bagabondo (talk) 02:52, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
- Since I made my edits, @Alcirengifo115 put much of the information back in and spammed each contribution with the edit summary: "I am a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic conducting research on Mr. Carrasco's film and this is accurate, verified information that should be included in his profile page."
- Almost all of the "sources" are dead links that 404 or go to the website's homepage, ex: Yahoo's. These are not poor sources, these are not sources at all, so I am now going to go through and delete all of this sourceless information. The same editor has restored sourceless information to the article for this director's film, so I will remove that too.
- Upon googling the name of this "Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic" @alcirengifo115 (Alci Rengifo) and the subject Carrasco, I immediately found an article written by Salvador where he calls Rengifo "his friend" ([1]) and many other articles where the two talk about one another as friends. The user has also only edited articles for its director and his film. This appears to be an unacceptable conflict of interest.
- Wikipedia is not meant to be a promotional profile that anyone and their friends can fluff up for their own self-promotion, it is meant to be a neutral encyclopedia of notable subjects, and I am beginning to question the general notability of this article's subject at hand.
