Calculation?

[edit]

The article is almost entirely uninformative. It tells us that the system is used, and that it is calculated on the basis of time, but there is nothing about how it is calculated. Is one second below the standard time 1 point, or 1000 points, or 17.382 points, or what? Is it linear or exponential? Some worked examples might help the reader.

Some history of when the system was introduced would also benefit the article greatly. Kevin McE (talk) 10:01, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is no such thing as a "standard time". The times used are the true skating results for each distance skated. Skating 500 m in 40 seconds gives the skater 40 points. Skating 1500 m in 2 minutes would also give the skater 40 points (as 120 seconds * 500m/1500m = 40 seconds). However, a real-life example would of course be informative. ...which is why I added two examples. :) Fomalhaut76 (talk) 09:44, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
