Successor?

[edit]

The article currently indicates the Galaxy J8 (2018) as the successor of the Galaxy J7 (2017). But Samsung also released a Galaxy J7 (2018), and a Galaxy J7 (2019). I have always regarded the naming scheme of of Samsung's J series phones as using the numeral (J1, J3, J5, etc) as defining "tiers" of product lines. There are annual or semi-annual refreshes of each tier, and occasionally some tiers are dropped or added. From that perspective, I would consider that the Galaxy J8 (2018) is not a successor of the Galaxy J7 (2017), but rather a new higher-level tier of overall Galaxy J series.
