Merger proposal

[edit]

These pages are very similar and likely to remain so. Therefore there should be one main page with the other redirecting to it. --Sophitessa (talk) 22:59, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The notability of the owner doesn't automatically flow to the store and there are no references for either article; I've tagged the store article for speedy deletion and this one certainly needs some references and other work, which I've indicated. And, yes, we don't sign Wikipedia articles. Accounting4Taste:talk 22:44, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have re-added the merge templates which had been deleted. The pages should be merge I feel because the two subjects are intertwined: Sakata is notable for creating the store and the store was notable because of the influence of Sakata. As Accounting4Taste (talk · contribs) says, the store by itself isn't really notable enough for its own article. Though it should probably exist as a redirect. I believe there is certainly enough information for Sakata to have a page. I found lots of hits for Sakata on Google News, mainly from back in the 90s and from good sources like the New York Times. --Sophitessa (talk) 20:02, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that Obiko should be merged/redirected here, though I'd be more confident in saying this article should even exist at all if you included the sources you found, Sophitessa.  Mbinebri  talk ← 16:07, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
