White Van Man

Citation for coining term "white van man" [1] Have added this source plus another one I found on the BBCs own website Smeddlesboy 19:54, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Hmm, if you don't like her - change the dial... I have been listening to Radio 2 for years, since my teens, I LIKE the Sainsbugs and flat choir-boy. The fact she makes me laugh out loud at such a God-awful time in the morning says a lot for her, the Dawn Patrollers and people like me who send in our silly stories. Maddie

"She is widely unpopular with the station's younger listeners..." Where is the proof for this? Debby Rich http://sarahkennedy.blogspot.com/— Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.25.102.1 (talkcontribs) 20:04, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Have you ever asked a young person? Good God she's awful.

In fact, she appears to be criticised equally by listeners of all ages. "Younger" doesn't enter into it. ;) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pete Fenelon (talkcontribs) 20:08, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

TBW

She is affectionately known as "TBW" (aka That Bloody Woman) by TOGs (aka Terry (Wogan's) Old Geezers).— Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.134.186.149 (talkcontribs) 14:11, 15 July 2005 (UTC)

I listen to Terry Wogan every day and have actually never heard her referred to as TBW. --Whoosher (talk) 19:45, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
He does use "That Bloody Woman", and I suspect it would get abbreviated to TBW on the TOG messageboards. Rissa (talk) 03:50, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

NPOV

I've restructured the article a bit to hopefully make it a bit more readable and encyclopedia, but I've not taken any content out (though I have added a bit on her TV career and changed some of the links to make them work)

I have left the section about criticisms of her broadcast style alone, but I have tagged it as NPOV and unsourced, as it says that she ahs been criticised, but neither gives sources for the criticisms, nor puts across the reasons why other people like her.

Also the infobox needs a photo, but I have not been able to find one that is suitable for copyright purposes. Could someone else assist? Smeddlesboy 14:27, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Cats

No mention of her her cats, Burmah and the other one, both often get mentioned on her show. --Pandaplodder 09:23, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Serious BLP issues

I've had a major hack and slash of this thing as it was riddled with nonsense. Feel free to continue. Manning (talk) 09:10, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

OK - I had to do some major slicing to clean this up. I don't like my current section headings, but it was what I came up with at short notice. Manning (talk) 09:17, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Leaving

Just announced on the news that she's leaving Radio 2. Nothing I can find on the BBC website so far, but I've referenced it to an article at radiotoday.co.uk. Rojomoke (talk) 11:10, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

  • Someone else added a little later in the article. I referenced to Guardian which was the first source I found. I see nothing wrong with having it mentioned twice :). Unusual no BBC article yet, considering the first place I heard was on R2 12pm news. Nevermind Thenthornthing (talk) 11:48, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
