Probably to do with its feeding habits. The word sarcastic "comes from the ancient Greek σαρκάζω (sarkazo) meaning 'to tear flesh'"[1] Drutt (talk) 12:02, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Unique body-type hard to understand through article. Better picture would help.

A photo of an alive, underwater sarcastic fringehead opening its mouth would be useful to see to really understand this fish better. Maybe a picture of it closed too.
