RE: Motorway
[edit]I have edited the following paragraph: "The rural aspect of Sarratt has been greatly influenced by the building of the M25 London orbital motorway – widened in 2011 to eight lanes (four each way) – less than a mile distant at the nearest point where it passes under Sarratt Road."

The M25 London orbital motorway – widened in 2011 to eight lanes (four each way) – passes Sarratt less than a mile distant at its nearest point, where it passes under Sarratt Road.
The original contains the statement 'the rural aspect of Sarratt has been greatly influenced by the building of the M25 London orbital motorway' for which no source is provided. Indeed, the M25 passes in close proximity south-south east of the village. However there are a number of issues with the statement regarding the rural aspect. Firstly, the statement has no source, such a council or parish report stating as much, therefore it must be regarded as the subjective opinion of an individual. Second, rural aspect is not defined, thus what has been specifically affected is unclear, nor by what means that effect has taken place. Finally, the extent to which those effects have been felt is unclear, 'greatly influenced' is imprecise at best, has the whole village been effected, or just part of it, what constitutes a great influence?
On several occasions i have flagged this section for lacking a citation, however these have been deleted by the original author who suggested i consulted an OS map. I doubt the ordnance survey have deigned to include information on their map sheets on the impact of vehicular use on rural areas, but i am happy to be corrected. Finally, my edit has been deleted and the original reinstated, and no attempt was made to rectify the clear issue with the subjectivity of the original or provide a source for the statement, meanwhile flagging my posts for vandalism! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.156.9.70 (talk) 12:35, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
