In the film, the ray only seemed to harm people, not cause explosions.

It did when i watched it... the initial ray dragged things up towards it and then caused an explosion by unknown means at it's point.

also.. "The Colonel orders a second firing of the laser, but Tetsuo anticipates this and shields himself and Kaneda completely from the second volley." isn't this open to interpretation? most people i've talked to interpreted this as another act of the three children sheilding kaneda as they do during his later confrontation with Tetsuo.

Funny coincidence[edit]

Just by sheer coincidence, SOL can also mean "shit out of luck"; fitting, as if someone were to get hit by the orbital laser, they too would be SOL. SWalkerTTU 09:26, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
